I just grin thinking about it!

You know those relationships that feel effortless YET if you do the math they are the ones that you give all your effort and commitment to …. ON REPEAT?

I am feeling that as we come home from our two weekends of traditional deer camp shenanigans. It is one of my favorite weeks of the year. We hang out in freezing cold temps, bundled up, stoking the fire until way too late watching the moon and stars. A few hours later we wake up long before the sun comes up, piling in the side by side and living life high on the mountain all day. Lots of laughing, hard work, tired feet, tired eyes, getting dirty and smelling like bonfire, in our camo and wool socks we go for it. This has been a tradition in our family since I was a little girl. and as an added bonus we camp/hunt at the same spot where my grandparents started it all, where my parents took us AND we now get to take our children. Five generations now. Gahhhhh makes me grin just thinking about it.

Oh, and I remember like it was yesterday when my sisters and cousins got to trick-or-treat around the small city of trailers because it always seemed to land on Halloween. It was usually very cold and very muddy and even still, the memories feel wonderful and fun.

Our family is one of the things I am most proud of. Our connection feels effortless, yet we give it our effort and commitment 100%. I love my people. And you know what else? I TRULY like them! I like their company, I like their hearts, their laughter and that we CHOOSE to spend this time together. Watching all the cousins love on each other makes my heart swell and gives me pure joy.

I have been raised by great examples and mentors in my life, my Mom and Dad have been beautiful teachers for me. So grateful they love by example. They have shown me, my husband, my children and my friends what unconditional love looks and FEELS like.

Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs I've ever had. Oooooof I have been served up many challenges on my parenting journey (the kind you could sit in a ball and cry your eyes out and just to be clear I have done on occasion). A job not for the faint of heart.

With all of it, I believe I have excelled as a Mom, given my whole heart and damn straight, the opposite is true when I haven't gotten it right.

What I know for sure? Whether I get it right or continue to stumble a little more; I will continue to give my people everything I have again and again. In times when I feel like we may be falling short, I do my best to show up in love and surrender to put my trust in God my people FEEL my unconditional love and commitment to them even when I don't know if I'm getting it right.

We're all seeking the best, fastest, most powerful ways to improve our lives. We want to feel more, enjoy more, produce more, and succeed at a higher level.
