Don’t Look For Motivation

Happy Wednesday Wisdom afternoon edition. Hope I found you awake and ready for some inspiration.

Last week I did a THREE DAY WATER FAST! I had never even heard of such a thing. Listening to podcasts like I do, I was taking my morning walk and had Mel Robbins Podcast in my ears. She was talking with a hormone & fasting expert Dr. Mindy Pelz, and I leaned in. It was calling to me as she was starting a three-day water fast in a couple of days and a big online group was doing it together and I KNEW I HAD TO DO IT! I had one day to get ready and make it happen, listened, to her instructions, took all the notes, and jumped in scared yet excited.

You know when something shows up, and you know it was meant for you? Well, this was it for me.

My mind started arguing with me on ALL the reasons why this wasn't a good time. My brain started jumping in like it does to avoid pain, seek pleasure, or protect me from imminent death.

I had to get in the mindset of YES this is for my greater good. I need this for my health. I was asking in prayer for some answers on some hormone challenges I am struggling with and here was the answer I had asked for.

It's interesting how often we ask for guidance and miss the answer. Well, this time I heard it loud and clear, and I am so grateful I was LISTENING!

So I did it! And I stayed rooted to my WHY, kept my mindset in check and I totally slayed it. I ended up extending for 12 hours and doing an 84-hour water fast.

Wow, our bodies and minds are so incredible.

Do you stay rooted to your "why" when faced with adversity?

These are some of the things that kept me in check. If you need them I hope they come in handy on your next challenge.

Clarify Your Why: Your "why" should be deeply meaningful and personal.

Write it Down: My why statement served as a reminder to stay on task.

Regularly Reflect: Take time for regular self-reflection.

Visualize Your Why: This can boost motivation and focus.

Seek Inspiration: Surround yourself with sources of inspiration.

Stay Mindful: Practice mindfulness to stay present and connected to your "why."

Embrace Flexibility: Be open to revisiting & refining as you evolve.

Learn from Setbacks: Adjust your approach if necessary.

Prioritize Self-Care: Putting yourself first can be a game changer.

I'm grateful for my experiences.

You'll come to understand that gratitude is the foundation of a harmonious life by design.

I'm grateful for my experiential wisdom. I'm here to share what I know, what I've learned and how I'm growing to better
myself and empower you with the same.  Creating gratitude goes hand in hand with experiential wisdom.  To get you started on that path, I want you to have my 7-Day Gratitude Freebie!
